Ah Sam’s Orchid Spa Service

If you love orchids but are unable to make them bloom, Ah Sam’s Orchid Spa is perfect for you.

In our humidity and temperature-controlled greenhouses, most orchids (depending on the variety) will bloom at least once per year. During its stay, we will give your orchid the same quality care, feeding and attention we give to our own plants.

Initial Drop-off

Plants are inspected before being accepted into the Orchid Spa. Plants in very poor condition or infested with pests will not be accepted. Plants in need of special care will be accepted with the understanding that these plants will not be replaced if they fail to survive. Depending upon the condition of your plant, it may take longer than one year to bloom. We will repot all orchids as necessary and at our discretion.

Customers will be issued a receipt for plants left in our care.

Less common and specialty orchid varieties will be accepted only if we feel our growing conditions are appropriate for the well being of the plant.

Fees by the collection

You are actually renting space in our greenhouses for your orchid collection. The minimum fee is $40.00 per month or any portion of a month for 8 square feet. Each additional square foot is $5.00 per month. The total area that your collection needs is determined by our assessment of the proper spacing requirements of the individual plants for optimum performance and health.

A 6-month commitment is required and must be prepaid by a credit card. We will re-measure your space every 6 months and you will be billed at the beginning of each 6-month period for your rented space. A 30-day notice is necessary to terminate the agreement. You will be refunded for any remaining months not rented. Monthly fees are not pro-rated by the day.

Fees are subject to change with a 30-day written notification.

Premium Fees by the plant

There is an initial drop-off fee of $5.00 per plant.

Monthly fees are as follows:
Phalaenopsis, Dendrobium, Oncidium Alliance, Cattleya, etc
Up to 6” pot: $5.00 per month
Up to 8” pot: $6.00 per month
9” pot and up: $7.50 per month

Cymbidium
Up to 8” pot: $5.00 per month
Up to 10” pot: $6.00 per month
Up to 12” pot: $7.00 per month
12” pot and up: $8.00 per month
A 3-month commitment is required and must be prepaid by a credit card. We will charge your account quarterly (March, June, September, December) for each of your plants in our greenhouses. Monthly fees are not pro-rated by the day.

Additional Services

We will repot and divide your cymbidiums for $15.50 per final generated plant. All other orchids cost $10.00 per repotted plant.

Pest Management

All plants accepted into our Orchid Spa are subject to pesticide applications at our discretion for both apparent infestations and preventive applications.

Pick-up and Delivery Service

Customers will be notified by telephone when their orchids are in the beginning stages of bloom. All plants will be made available for pick-up in our retail greenhouse. We can provide delivery service at a nominal fee. This same delivery fee will apply to any request for a pick-up of orchids to be boarded at our facilities. Guarantee/Liability

While we guarantee to provide the same care for your orchids as we do for our own, we cannot guarantee that they will bloom in any given period of time or if at all. Orchids are left in our care at the sole risk of the owner. Orchids that do not survive due to natural causes or a virus/disease that is undetected at the time of acceptance will not be replaced and we will not assume responsibility of any kind. We reserve the right to reject any plant from our boarding service at any time.

Abandonment Policy

If you decide to terminate your rental of space from Ah Sam’s Orchid Spa, you need to give us a 30-day notice. Any of your plants still left in our care after this period will be considered abandoned. Spa plants not paid for 60 days beyond the due date will be considered abandoned.
